Lose Weight Faster by Breaking Bad....

7:30 AM

...Habits (See what I did there? Lol.)

Seriously though!  Habits are routines that we barely think about.  They are things that we can do on 'auto-pilot' so to speak.

...Ever get home from work and don't remember actually driving there?  Well - how nice will it be when you set habits that support your weight loss in place and you step on the scale, see it down 10 lbs. and don't even recall the challenges of getting there?

Healthy habits are not only the building blocks of successful weight loss, but they are ESSENTIAL to keeping you at your goal once you reach it.

If a genie could blink you to your weight loss goal in a second, what good would it be if all of your habits push that scale right back in the wrong direction...?  Think of the weight loss process as trial run for long-term scale success...with exciting mile markers along the way!

Remember that trying to undo habits and re-create new ones and it is not a quick or easy process....

...In fact, according to an article at Today Health, the commonly accepted idea that it takes '21 days to form a new habit' is actually a myth.  Studies performed at the University College of London showed that it actually takes an average of 66 days to build up a new habit to the point where it feels automatic.

So yes, it's not an easy task.  But also yes - it is a worthwhile oneEven some of the most prominent philosophers recognized that this is so:

“Habit is habit and not to be flung out the window by any man, but coaxed down the stairs one step at a time.” – Mark Twain

“Habit is the most imperious of all masters” -- Gothe

“All men’s natures are alike, it is their habits that carry them far apart.” -- Confucius

“Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.”

“Cultivate only the habits that you are willing should master you.” -- Elbert Hubbard

“Bad habits are like a comfortable bed, easy to get into, but hard to get out of.” – Proverb

Also remember, as difficult as it may be to break bad habits and to reset new ones…

“Good habits, once established, are just as hard to break as bad habits.” – Robert Puller

“First we make our habits, then our habits make us.” – Charles C. Noble

“Habits are cobwebs at first; cables at last.” – Chinese Proverb

It is going to take time and many different small scenarios before it starts to become routine.
